OTTUMWA —
Lee Ray Latta, 67, of 134 E. Maple, died at 2 a.m. August 14, 2012 at his home.
He was born October 15, 1944 in Waukegan, IL to Robert Earl and Mary Elizabeth Grace Latta. He married Janet Sue Lanman on September 9, 1990.
Lee served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He had lived in Portland, OR and in Florida before moving to Ottumwa in 1988.
He was a fork truck driver for Dr. Pepper/Snapple for the past 24 years.
Lee was a member of Life Church, O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Teamsters Local #238.
Surviving is his wife, Jan; a daughter, Shari Latta of Portland, OR; two sons, Robert and Adam Latta both of Portland, OR; a step-son, Brent Cox of Ottumwa; a step-daughter, Jill Brown of Hedrick; 5 granddaughters; 4 grandsons; a great-grandson; two nieces, Julie Root of Iowa and Janice Buehl of Daytona Beach, FL; and a nephew, Brian (Sherry) Root of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Root.
His body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Life Church, 303 N. Hancock, with Pastor Jay Allison officiating.
