Joyce E. Talbert, 64, of Ottumwa, died August 30, 2012 at her home.
She was born November 26, 1947 in Ottumwa to Herman and Clarice Clark Brown.
A resident of Ottumwa all of her life, she served as a combat medic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. She graduated from the Indian Hills Community College School of Nursing and was a registered nurse at Ottumwa Regional Health Center for over 20 years. Joyce retired in 2007 as a nursing supervisor.
Surviving is her daughter, Carrie Mundt of Ottumwa; two step-children, Stacy Talbert and Todd Talbert both of Ottumwa; two grandchildren; and her brother, Ron Brown of St. Cloud, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Tristin Seemann.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in the Ottumwa Cemetery with military services conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Monday with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday.
