BLOOMFIELD —
Diana Lynn Thomas Bartlett, 61, of Bloomfield, died Jan. 28, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines after her courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 4, 1951, in Ottumwa to William L. and Phyllis M. Roberts Thomas Sr. She married Stephen D. Bartlett in June 1995 in Bloomfield.
She graduated from Davis County High School in 1969. Diana spent several years working at Pedrick and Thorne in Ottumwa and the last eight years at Hamilton’s Produce in Bloomfield. She was such a hard worker and always had to be busy. Diana had a natural talent as an electrician, plumber, mechanic and carpenter with great talent at all. Many of her happiest moments were spent with a tape measure on her belt, mowing her lawn and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her father; husband; a daughter, Raquel (Tim) LaRue of Milton; a son, Jeremy (Kandi) Arnold of Floris; a brother, Bill (Sharon) Thomas Jr. of Bloomfield; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother; grandparents; and a granddaughter, Carley Arnold.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; with Rev. David Albert officiating. Burial will be at the Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa.
Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
