OTTUMWA —
Geraldine “Geri” Riley, 93, of Ottumwa, died at 6:05 a.m. January 27, 2013 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born November 27, 1919 in Ottumwa, IA to George and Bertha Garr Sleeth. She married Wilford Riley on October 24, 1953. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1981.
A graduate of Ottumwa High School, she worked for car dealerships and in women’s ready to wear. She worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works 26 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of Ottumwa Baptist Temple.
Surviving are two daughters, Janis (Rex) Bottorff of Ottumwa and Anne (Ross) Bottorff of Sallisaw OK; a son, Charles Riley of Florida; four grandchildren, Ryan Bottorff of South Carolina, Jennifer Basford of Oklahoma, Brandon Riley of New Jersey and Linnette Bernard of Iowa; three great granddaughters, Riley, Reese and Regan; three nieces, Carol (Kenny) Black of Agency, Kay Gilliland of Sigourney and Sandra (Richard) Thomas of Arkansas; a special friend, Brooks Darner of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tom Riley; a sister, Hazel Wymore and an infant sister and brother.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Ottumwa Baptist Temple with Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to Ottumwa Baptist Temple or Iowa Hospice.
