OTTUMWA —
Minnie H. McKinsey, 94, formerly of 1311 Plum, died at 9:27 a.m. January 15, 2013 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born March 18, 1918 in Des Moines to John and Hilda Hittle Geier. She married Ralph L. “Abie” McKinsey on March 19, 1936. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1989.
Minnie had been an employee of the Ottumwa Hospital.
She was a member of Pennsylvania Ave. Church of Christ, which is now Christ’s Church.
Surviving are four grandchildren, Terry (Jennie) Crow of Agency, Jeff (Sharr) Crow of Omaha, NE, Michelle (Larry Ingram) Crow of Colfax, Lori (Mike Perkins) Danner of Blakesburg; two great-grandchildren, Leslie Crow and Todd (Amanda) Wilson; three great-great-grandsons, Bentley Hartman, Talon and Bryan Wilson; two brothers, Eugene Merrill of Boone and Harold Merrill of Des Moines; two sisters, Betty Hanawalt of Newton and Darlene Petersen of Colfax.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, infant, Nettie Louise McKinsey and Ruth I. Hunt and a brother, Donald Merrill.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Bill Payne and Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
