OTTUMWA —
Yvonne Colleen Geary, 78, died Dec. 27, 2012, at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab in Ottumwa.
She was born April 21, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Ralph and Lorraine Gruver Geary.
She was a graduate of Mount Union High School, where she was active in basketball and drama. She attended the Methodist Church. She had done office work in New London and Burlington before moving to Ottumwa, where she worked at various positions, the last one with the Foster Grandparent program.
Colleen loved her animals.
She is survived by a sister, Judy Krieger of Ottumwa; a brother, Wallace (Betty) Geary of Mt. Pleasant; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Cox; nieces, Katy King and Kaila Halling; and nephews, Seay Geary and Mike Cox.
She was preceded by her parents; two brothers, Jim Cox and Jack Geary; a niece, Shelly; and a nephew, Sean.
No services are planned.
Shrine of Memories was in charge of arrangements; the body has been cremated.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society.
