MENOMONIE, Wis. —
Eric Max Goers, 19, of Menomonie, Wis., died Aug. 12, 2012, at his home.
Eric was born May 14, 1993.
He lived the first eight years of his life in Norway, Iowa, spent the next two years on a family boat adventure and has been a Menomonie resident since 2003. Eric was set to begin his sophomore year at Michigan Technological University as a civil engineering major interested in railroad transportation. He was a Menomonie swim instructor for the past two summers. Eric was a loving, caring and dependable person. His loves were football, swimming, music and trains. His future was bright and the world will be short one less “good guy."
He is survived by his father and mother, Richard and Denise (Glosser) Goers; grandparents, Joann Glosser, Charlotte Goers-Nevin, and David Nevin; aunts and uncle, Kim and Dean Thompson and Pamela Goers.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Richard Goers and Neil Glosser.
Funeral Services will be 7 p.m. this evening at the Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie; with Pastor Rob MacDougall officiating.
Visitation will begin two hours prior to the time of service today at the funeral home.
Memorials will be used to start a scholarship in Eric’s memory.
