OTTUMWA —
Steven Carl Doud, 63, of Alvin, Texas, formerly of Ottumwa, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 7, 2012, at St. John’s Hospital in Nassau Bay, Texas.
Steve was born on July 28, 1949, in Ottumwa, the son of the late Lelah Blessing Doud and Brice Doud. Steve was married to Leanne Ramsey Doud on May 1, 1971 and enjoyed 41 wonderful years of marriage. He joins his daughter, Aimee Lynn Doud, in Heaven.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin. Steve was retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years service and from the Houston VA Hospital after 20 years employment, as well as being a decorated Vietnam War veteran.
Steve is survived by his wife; son, Jason (Cindy) Doud of Alvin; his grandson, Justin Doud of Alvin; his mother-in-law, Nila Ramsey of Alvin; his sister, Cherie Weeks of Pulaski; sister-in-law, Tammy (Kelly) Hannegan of Santa Fe, Texas, and brother-in-law, Tom J. (Shaw) Ramsey of Virginia Beach, Va.; nieces, Maciena Hannegan, Jessica Rickard and Jennifer Moreles; nephews, Pat and Neil Carr and Michael Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his daughter; parents; stepfather, Forrest Martin; brother, Jeff Doud; father-in-law, Tom Ramsey; grandparents George and Viola Blessing and Inez Doud; and niece, LeBeth Carr.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Scott Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
