Dan Hugh Scott, 54, of Bloomfield died July 27, 2012, at his home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1957, in Bloomfield to Delbert Hugh and Ethel Irene Henderson Scott. He married Debra Bradley Oct. 20, 1978, in Bloomfield. He worked for the Davis County Hospital for over 30 years. Dan was an avid hunter who enjoyed fishing and collecting guns. He was a member of Izaak Walton League of America, Pheasants Forever, the National Rifle Association and was active with the Eagle Scouts and 4-H. He was also a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. Dan was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his children, as well as his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Dawn (Derek Grittmann) Scott of Clive; a son, Dylan (Sarah) Scott of Bloomington, Ill.; two brothers, Charles (Carolyn) Scott and Alvin Scott, both of Bloomfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; with Pastor Kevin Gingerich officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established to Davis County Dollars for Scholars and Camp Wapello Preservation Group.
