BLOOMFIELD —
Roby Ludwig, 81, of rural Bloomfield, died at 7:25 p.m. June 27, 2012 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
He was born May 7, 1931 in Portage, WI to William and Leta Bowles Ludwig.
A graduate of La Bell High School in La Bell, MO, Roby had attended the Art Institute in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan. He worked with his brother, Harold, at Ludwig Standard Station. He had worked for Whitham’s Nursery in Agency and for over 20 years had worked at O’Hara Hardware.
Roby enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Surviving are two sisters, Lillian Johnson of Ottumwa and Betty (Bill) Black of Bloomfield; two brothers, William (Pat) Ludwig Jr. of Hillsboro and Jerrold Ludwig of Ottumwa; several nieces and nephews including special nephews, Ken Black and Kevin (Ann) Black both of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Danny and Carl Ludwig; and a sister, Velma Fetters.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
