OTTUMWA —
Dr. Theodore “Ted” F. Norton, 71, of Queen City, Mo., formerly of Ottumwa, died June 9, 2012, at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Mo.
He was born June 30, 1940 in Centerville, the son of Winfred and Helen (Hoover) Norton. He graduated from Moulton-Udell High School and then received his doctorate in chiropractic from the Palmer Chiropractic College in 1972.
Ted served his country for a time in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1964. He was the owner of Norton Chiropractic in Ottumwa for many years. He loved to bowl and was an avid baseball fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Norton.
Ted is survived by his brother, Terry Norton of Blairstown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton. Burial will follow at the Sunset Cemetery north of Moulton.
Visitation will be held from 9 am Tuesday until the time of service.
Memorials can be made to the Moulton-Udell A Club and left or mailed to the funeral home.
The Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Moulton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
