AGENCY —
Myrna Dooley, formerly of Agency, passed from this life on Dec. 16, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Myrna was born in Agency to Russell and Ethel Droz Holmes. She married Luther Dooley on Feb. 28, 1953.
She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She loved spring time and gardening. She was an avid Hawkeye fan.
She was a graduate of Agency High School and a former member of the Agency Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Myrna loved her family and her home. She was the pillar of her family and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Luther; her grandchildren, Mindy (Bret) Zvacek of Hannawa Falls, N.Y., and Tammy (Neil Korin) Guy of Des Moines; and her great-granddaughter, Jenna Guy of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Jacquie and Morton Baker; her sister, Helen Hanna; her brother, Victor Holmes; and her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in West Des Moines, followed by burial at the Ottumwa Cemetery in Ottumwa.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel.
Memorials may be made to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in West Des Moines or Agency United Methodist Church.
