ELDON —
William “Bill” Eugene Trout Jr., 71, of Eldon, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 16, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Bill was born on June 8, 1941, in Salt Creek Township in Davis County. On June 13, 1969, he married Lynn Kemp, and they were later divorced. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2012.
He was educated in Eldon and graduated from Cardinal High School in 1960. Following high school, Bill worked at John Morrell Company and later for the Rock Island Railroad. Bill enjoyed driving a school bus for Cardinal Schools and was proud of his River Valley Satellite business, which he started and operated for many years. He enjoyed doing auctioneering, calling square dances and collecting clocks. Bill was a member of Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon.
Survivors include one son, Ed (Nicki) Trout of Floris; two granddaughters, Kristian Trout and McKenzie Trout, both of Floris; three sisters, Judy (Wayne) Liles and Karen (Jon) Orman, both of Floris, and Donna “Duck” Durham of Ottumwa; one brother, Steve (LouAnne) Durham of Floris; and many stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Ritz Durham; his father, Archie Durham; and his biological father, William Trout Sr.
A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon; with Pastor Dave Albert officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery near Floris.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at Grace Funeral Care in Eldon, where the family will be present for visitation from 4-6 p.m.
A memorial fund is being established for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
