BELVIDERE, Ill. —
Margaret “Margo” Ritz, 71, nee Streicher, died Sept. 22, 2012.
She was born Dec. 3, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., to Roy and Elizabeth Streicher and was raised in Glenview, Ill.
She loved to craft, paint and garden. She was a floral designer and manager at Craft Etc., in San Antonio. After moving back to Illinois, she enjoyed being an activities director at Beacon Hill in Lombard. While living in Belvidere, she became a repair tech for Motorola. In her senior years, she enjoyed volunteering and being a Master Gardener for eight years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and attended the First Free Evangelical Church in Rockford.
She will be remembered for her wonderful crafts, her warm and loving heart and beautiful smile.
She was the beloved wife of Carl E. Ritz; sister to LeRoy Streicher, John (Linda) Streicher of McHenry, Ill., Rose (Martin) Forbes of Oshkosh, Wis., Rita (Edward) Jessie of San Antonio, Texas, and Marlene (Phillip) Franklin of Paducah, Ky.; loving mother of Jeffrey Brewer of Baja, Mexico, Denise (Fred) Turner of West Chicago, Ill., Kevin Brewer of San Diego, Calif., and Brett (Kim) Ritz of Madison, Wis.; adoring grandmother to 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in death by her parents; brother, LeRoy Streicher; and sister, Rita Jessie.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. today.
