ELDON —
Vicki Jean Powley, 68, of Klamath Falls, Ore., formerly of Eldon, passed away Oct. 8, 2012, at the Sky Lakes Medical Center due to complications of a stroke.
Vicki was a lively lady with a kind and gentle soul, deep faith and conviction; she had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. She brought joy to all around her with her contagious laugh and genuine love for all.
Vicki was born in Ottumwa on Dec. 17, 1943, to Wallace Gifford and Virginia M. Saltzgaver Campbell. She married her soulmate, Ronald L. Powley, on Nov. 29, 1963, in Eldon; they spent 48 wonderful years together.
She and Ron moved to Klamath Falls in 1992. Vicki was a member of Klamath Lutheran Church, active with PEO Chapter CF, a charter member of Sunrise Rotary, a board member with the NW American Red Cross and chaired the annual Brats, Brews and Blues Celebration benefiting Camp Evergreen, a grief camp for children, for 12 years. Vicki retired in 2009 as broker/owner of Real Estate Unlimited having also been a realtor in California for many years.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband Ron; children Shelly (Jay) Thorpe of Klamath Falls, Ore., Eric (Valerie) Powley of Lindenhurst, Ill., and Marcus (Joanna) Powley of Coos Bay, Ore.; grandchildren Benjamin and Joshua Thorpe, Jason and Matthew Powley, and Emma, Amanda and Kristina Powley; brother Bill (Mary) Campbell of Agency; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Hamilton of Klamath Falls; and brothers-in-law Larry (Sharon) Powley of Lawrence, Kan., Tom (Vonnie) Powley of Klamath Falls and Eldon Powley of Klamath Falls. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous close friends.
A celebration of Vicki's life was held Oct. 12 at the Klamath Lutheran Church.
