OTTUMWA —
Yolanda M. Osteen, 79, of 5071 Hwy 63, died at 3:10 a.m. Nov. 7, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
She was born May 10, 1933, in Moulton to Leon and Mary Moore Childs. She married William “Bill” Osteen on April 15, 1955.
A 1951 graduate of Ottumwa High School, she had worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone. Yolanda enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association and the Ottumwa Quilters Guild.
Surviving is her husband, Bill; a daughter, Darcy Lynn (Joe) McDonald of Horicon, Wis.; a son, Greg (Rene) Osteen of Madison, Wis.; three grandsons, Ryan (Amy) McDonald of Horicon, Wis., Seth (Jessie) McDonald of Oshkosh, Wis., and Chad Osteen of Madison, Wis.; five great-grandchildren, Josie, Logan, Nathan, Dylan and Colin McDonald; and a sister, Claire (Ray) Johnson of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Robert Tharp.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, IA 52501.
