Street tosses perfect game
OSKALOOSA — Oskaloosa’s Emily Street was perfect Friday night. Perfect as in no hits, no walks and no errors.
The amazing performance included 17 strikeouts and led the No. 13 ranked Indians to a 6-0 victory over Jesup in softball action.
Street started the game with eight consecutive strikeouts. After a groundout to third base, Street quickly struck out the next eight batters. She completed the perfect game by allowing only four balls to be hit into play.
In total, Street threw 84 pitches, 64 of which were strikes in the perfect game. The victory improved her season record to 2-1 this season.
Street’s work didn’t end on the mound. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI. Trisha VanDusseldorp also had two hits and two RBI.
Sarah Hynick notched two hits, a RBI and a run scored. Renee Lenox added a hit, a RBI and a run scored. Brittany Redlich went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Osky.
Oskaloosa hosts the Osky Classic today.
