FAIRFIELD —
A 23-year-old Fairfield man is dead after striking a semi head on Thursday afternoon.
At 1:05 p.m. Thursday, Shane Mock, 25, of West Plains, Mo., was driving a semi tractor westbound on Highway 92 west of Oskaloosa.
Derrikk Crawford, 23, of Fairfield, was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty eastbound toward Mock.
Crawford crossed the center line into the westbound lane and struck the semi head-on. The semi went into the north ditch where it jackknifed and came to rest.
Crawford’s Jeep was pushed backwards and into the south ditch where it came to rest on its side.
