OTTUMWA —
Two people have been hospitalized following a Saturday evening stabbing, and police are still investigating.
According to a statement from Ottumwa police, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 616 E. Main Street at about 6:30 p.m. When they arrived, the officers found a person with multiple stab wounds.
The victim was taken to Ottumwa Regional Health Center, then transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.
About 10 minutes later, another person was found at Highway 34 and North Quincy Avenue with a stab wound. Authorities say this person was also involved in the incident on East Main Street. That person was taken to Ottumwa Regional Health Center for treatment.
Neither person's name has been released at this time. Police have not announced any arrests in the case and the investigation remains ongoing.
