Eddyville library launching snow creation contest
EDDYVILLE — The Eddyville Public Library and First Iowa State Bank is sponsoring a Snow Creation Contest for the community.
Build your best snow creation, take a photo and then submit it to the Eddyville Public Library by 5 p.m. March 1, 2010. Entries may be done by individuals or families who reside in the Eddyville-Blakesburg school district.
A cash prize of $25 will be awarded first place winner, with second and third place prizes, $15 and $10 respectively. Also, six honorable mentions will be named. First Iowa State Bank is donating the cash prizes.
Contest guidelines as follows:
• All entries must be visible from a public road in the Eddyville-Blakesburg school district.
• Entries must be constructed of natural snow. Added color, clothing and props may be used.
• There is no limit on the number of entries submitted.
• Photos should be no larger than 5 x 7. Photos may include the builder(s) with their snow creation. Photos must have the following information on the back: Name of snow creation, name(s) of builder(s), address of entrant(s), and a contact phone number.
• Photo entries may be dropped off at the library or mailed to: Eddyville Public Library, 202 South Second St., P.O. Box 399, Eddyville, Iowa. For more information, call the library at 969-4815.
• Winners will be notified on March 2, 2010.
