OTTUMWA —
A longer agenda and an earlier meeting time await the Wapello County Supervisors when they meet at 1:30 p.m. today in the courthouse third-floor courtroom.
Supervisor Greg Kenning said Monday that the first item will be setting the date for a public hearing that will authorize a loan agreement and the issuance of $4.8 million in General Obligation Capital Loan Notes, Series 2013.
Kenning also noted the board members are going over the paperwork for the loan agreement and setting up the resolution.
The law enforcement center needed repairs, so the supervisors did one round of repairs. However, Kenning said there are still other places that need immediate treatment.
“To put off the work would be trouble, so we’ll look at the proposal and get that taken care of,” he added.
The supervisors are also working on setting the right-of-way for Rock Bluff Road. Kenning said the board “has to get going on that,” and one of the early steps will be acquiring land for the road’s construction.
Another major item will be getting the bond established for the emergency communications tower and tying it in with some of the other construction projects. Kenning noted that the work needed to be done so it can be part of the budget.
The meeting will be open to the public.
