OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa City Council will review the numbers associated with the 2010-11 city budget during a special meeting/work session on Monday.
The council is facing tough decisions as it relates to balancing the city’s budget in the shadow of a difficult economy and recent across-the-board cuts made at the state level.
Meanwhile, the council will also vote on whether or not the city should apply for a RISE (Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy) grant to secure funds for street infrastructure improvments connected to the proposed Rippling Water Casino development.
The meeting is set for 5 p.m. Monday in the Council chambers at City Hall, 105 E. Third St.
The meeting is open to the public and the proceedings will be broadcast live on GO-TV, cable channel 6.
