CHARITON — Three Ottumwa women are dead following a car accident near Chariton Saturday night.
At 9:06 p.m. Saturday, a 2008 Ford F-250 pickup driven by Garrett Joseph Hollinrake, 19, of Knoxville, was eastbound on U.S. Highway 34 west of Chariton when the pickup crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on.
The driver of the vehicle, Olga Letecia Palencia, 56, of Ottumwa, was killed, as were two passengers: Dolores Rodas, 66, and Julieta Mendez Cruz, 44, both of Ottumwa.
Hollinrake was transported to Lucas County Health Center with injuries.
The accident is currently under investigation.
