An 82-year-old Corydon man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Iowa Highway 5 Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 12:51 p.m. Sunday, Jack M. Miner, 82, of Corydon, was southbound on Iowa Highway 5 south of Albia, when he pulled to the west shoulder and attempted a U-turn.
Brett W. Ellis, 32, of Ottumwa, was also southbound on Iowa Highway 5 and attempted to avoid the collision by braking and steering left. The front of Ellis’ truck struck the driver’s side door of Miner’s car in the northbound lane.
Both Ellis and Marilyn D. Miner, 80, of Corydon, sustained injuries in the accident.
Departments involved in the continuing investigation include the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Albia Police Department and Albia Fire Department.
