OTTUMWA —
The Mental Health Regional Reform letter tops the agenda when the Wapello County Supervisors meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Wapello County Courthouse.
Supervisor Steve Siegel said Friday that the board will discuss the letter, which was brought up at last week’s meeting. The letter will pertain to Appanoose, Davis and Wapello counties.
Siegel said the board had sent a letter of intent last month about forming the region. But when the letter came back from the state, those officials said the supervisors hadn’t given them all the information about court services and who performs those tasks.
State officials also said the supervisors had to tell them who will be in the hospital, and they also wanted the board to tell them what treatments would be done.
“They want a clear administrative structure for the region,” Siegel said. “This letter is an attempt to answer those questions for mental health services. They want a clear administrative structure for the region.”
In other business, the supervisors said they are reviewing the budget for the law center, which was prepared by the sheriff and the chief of police.
