'Dirty Dozen' projects
Winter has arrived, causing the Eddyville Parks and Recreation organization to stop all projects until spring. Officials report it has been a great year as the community came together to do many improvements around town, including pouring the final concrete around the Civil War Statue, replacing the sidewalk and installing new park benches on the northeast side of the central park. Locals give credit to group members known as the “Dirty Dozen” for working on these projects, including Doug Greenlee, Bird Lewman, Alan Katko, John Simmers, Dwight Lobberecht, Chris Van Engelenhoven, John Graham, John R. Johnson, Scott Eissens, Ron Richards, Lance Johnston and Alan Houser.
