OTTUMWA —
The Bloomfield man accused of stealing three cars and eluding law enforcement last week has pleaded not guilty.
Nicholas Cody Cone, 21, was charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree theft after allegedly stealing cars in Davis, Monroe and Wapello counties, wrecking two of them and ditching the final car.
Law enforcement caught up with Cone on foot near the Cargill Eddyville complex around 9 a.m. Nov. 21.
A preliminary hearing has been set for 10 a.m. Friday. Cone is being held on $10,000 cash-only bond in the Wapello County Jail.
