CENTERVILLE —
Two Centerville teenagers have been charged with arson following a report of a rural Appanoose County field on fire earlier this week.
At about 6:36 p.m. Monday, the Appanoose County Law Center received a report of a field on fire in the 27000 block of 195th Avenue.
An investigation in to the fire resulted in a determination that the fire was intentionally set and ruled an arson.
A joint investigation between the Appanoose County Sheriff and Centerville Police resulted in two teens being charged in the case: Dakota Anthony Campbell, 17, and Jonathan D. Duzenberry, 17, were both charged with arson in the second degree and possession of an explosive/incendiary device, both Class C felonies. Both Campbell and Duzenberry are being held in juvenile detention and awaiting further court proceedings.
Both law enforcement agencies continue to investigate a rash of recent fires throughout Appanoose County and Centerville. Officials are working to establish if any of the fires are connected.
