Tippy Canoe BBQ Crew named grand champion in the Bridge City BBQ Fest

OTTUMWA — Tippy Canoe BBQ Crew is the grand champion in the Bridge City BBQ Fest Saturday at Bridge View Center.

Larry Gawronski, executive director of Bridge View Center, sent results and noted the People’s Choice Award was selected by 100 attendees to the BBQ Fest in a blind taste test.

The Reserve Grand Champion is second place overall and the Grand Champion is first place overall, he noted.

The People’s Choice Award went to the 4 Mile Smokin’ Crew.

The following results also include the amount of money won by the entrants.

Grand Champion: Tippy Canoe BBQ Crew, $2,000.

Reserve Grand Champion: One2BBq $1,000.
