Two in jail after burglary investigation

OTTUMWA — Two men are in custody after police were called to North Weller Street for a reported burglary.

Police arrived in the 200 block of North Weller Street after a man called and reported people had entered his home while he slept and assaulted him. He sustained facial injuries in the attack and found several items missing.

The investigation led police to Devan Jay Cartwright, 18, 315 Grandview Ave., Ottumwa, and Justin Ray Wilson Anderson, 18, 16336 Stokes Rd., Greentop, Mo. Both are charged with robbery in the first degree and remain in the Wapello County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Additional arrests are pending.
