On Oct. 3, I went to the Wapello County Courthouse to cast my early vote in the general election. I was totally shocked! I wasn’t required to show any identification, even though at the top left of the form it asks for your drivers license/Iowa ID number. (I wasn’t required to fill in that section of the form.) I asked why and was given a blank look. They checked the information I gave via computer, gave me my ballot and let me vote. I asked the nice lady, “How do you know I am who I say I am?” She responded that my information in their database matched what I gave them. She stated that ID was required at the general election on Nov. 6. But ... But ... I just now voted in the general election! I just voted early!
My point: Anyone can get the voter rolls from the auditor’s office. Some charge you, some don’t. The phone book is also an excellent source for the required information. With that information ANYONE can use your information in an early voting period and disenfranchise you. When you attempt to vote on Nov. 6, you wouldn’t be allowed to vote. “You” would have already voted. Our voting process is not secure, and voter fraud is very possible. If you think I’m a conspiracy nut, think again. Remember ACORN? Guilty of multiple counts of voter fraud.
Do you want your right to vote to be secure? Or would you rather let someone rob you of your right to vote?
