Creamers really care about park and campers

I just found out that the city is not going to renew the contract for Doug and Bonnie Creamer to be hosts at Ottumwa Park Campground.

Sounds like false accusations are being made about them. We camp there, and Doug and Bonnie have always been kind and courteous to us. Never heard a bad word from either of them. They aren’t that way. They were always hard working, trying to keep the park nice and clean for the campers. I think this is a big mistake on the city’s part. You won’t ever find anyone to do all they did.

I remember one time Doug and Bonnie were gone for two years. Things really went downhill fast, and everyone was thrilled to see them come back. They are hometown people who really cared about the park and the campers, too. They have been there for 11 years. They must have been doing something right!

I was born and raised and worked in Ottumwa. We farmed at Blakesburg before moving to Arkansas in 2000. We come back in September for the Everco Reunion-Picnic. We camp in the campground. I guess we will have to find some other place to camp. There are places not far away that will work for us. You have raised your price and have no discounts for seniors. They used to have one. The bathrooms are a mess. The money spent on remodeling it could have built a nice one for campers only.

Doug and Bonnie will be greatly missed, and we wish them the very best. Some other campground will be lucky to get them. They will find another place. They are good people.
