Railroad crossing finally repaired
I am sure anyone that has traveled the Hedrick-Agency road has noticed that finally the railroad crossing has been repaired, and you can safely cross it without tearing your vehicle up.
After years of going to the railroad yards and also talking to the supervisors, making a call to some 800 number with no answer or received nothing from the railroad, I have finally decided that for help along this line, just have RAGBRAI come through and it will get done in a hurry.
Also, I hear they are also working on the tracks north of Packwood.
Have you also decided what routes they will be traveling in Ottumwa? You had better stay on those routes or you might fall into a pothole.
I am sure that anyone that has well traveled the Hedrick-Agency road would say a big thank you and that it has been too bad that it has taken so many years getting repaired. I am sure that all the truckers will finally be relieved as it has cost them a lot of extra money for fuel for such a rough crossing.
Also, a big thank you for putting dust control on in front of the homes on the detour route by the county employees. We are very grateful for this.
