OTTUMWA —
Is it just me or does anyone else believe the people should not run around town wearing U.S. military uniforms? I’m talking about people who are not in the service nor have ever served. These people are wearing complete camo uniform coats, pants, caps and boots. Some of these uniforms have the name strip, the U.S. Army strip and unit and rank patches.
I know there is a JROTC unit at the high school. My stepson was in it all four years. Now he is in the U.S. Army. He earned his uniform.
These people I’m talking about are unshaven, some with beards, something not allowed in the real service.
If they want to play dress up, wear something else. Can anyone tell me if it’s illegal to wear U.S. military uniforms other than camo jackets for hunting? Last time I noticed, there is no hunting downtown.
