Thank you for making coffee drive a success

OTTUMWA — The annual Veterans Coffee (collection) Drive held Oct. 20 was once again a success. From the beginning with the publicity provided by the Ottumwa Courier and Mid-Morning Magazine with Mike Buchanan on KBIZ radio, to the support of Fareway Foods and both the North and South Hy-Vees in once again hosting our event. The coffee and donations received will be very helpful in providing for veterans in the Marshalltown Veterans home and locally at the Ottumwa Veterans Clinic.

The Ottumwa Elks Lodge #347 and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #667 members generously donated their time and support also.

I especially want to express sincere gratitude to the most important supporters of this event, the residents of Ottumwa. They generously took time while shopping to donate to the veterans. I know I speak for all the veterans in thanking them. These folks represent the best of Ottumwa and add substance to the Elks Motto: “As long as there are veterans, the Elks (and Ottumwans) will not forget them.”
