DES MOINES (AP) — Another Iowa football player faces legal problems. Brandon Myers was arrested early Sunday in Coralville on a charge of public intoxication and interference with official acts.
Court records show he pleaded guilty to both charges on Sunday and was fined $350.
Myers, a 22-year-old tight end from Prairie City, caught 21 passes this season for 208 yards including five touchdowns. He replaced injured tight end Tony Moeaki.
Coach Kirk Ferentz declined to comment.
Myers is the 12th member of the 2007 Hawkeyes arrested or cited by police this year. Earlier this week, Iowa wide receiver Anthony Bowman pleaded guilty to credit card fraud.
Bowman was arrested in August with former Hawkeye wide receiver Dominique Douglas. Both were suspended from the Iowa football team and sat out the entire season.
Prosecutors say Bowman could face up to two years in prison but they will recommend that his judgment be deferred. Douglas has also pleaded guilty to credit card fraud. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 25.
