Pink Ball adds a touch of green to theme

OTTUMWA — The public is invited to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by attending the 51st annual Pink Ball’s “Emerald Elegance” event March 16 at the Ottumwa Country Club.

Each year, the Pink Ball raises thousands of dollars that are donated to a local charity. Court Appointed Service Advocates (CASA) is the beneficiary of this year’s Pink Ball proceeds. In recent years, CASA has experienced budget cuts, and federal funding was cut again this year.

“I appreciate the Pink Ball committee’s support.  CASA volunteers make a difference that lasts a lifetime and affect not only the children and families we serve, but the entire community we live in,” said CASA coordinator Aprile Goodman.

The Pink Ball will include a dance and hors d’oeuvres and will last from 8 p.m. to midnight on March 16. Tickets are $70 per couple or $35 per person and may be purchased at the door. The public may also call 641-777-0057 to reserve their tickets in advance. Table reservations may be made by calling the Ottumwa Country Club at 641-684-5491.

Music for the evening will be provided by That DJ Guy, and Lee’s Photography will offer professional photos. In keeping with Pink Ball tradition, a “Pink Lady” will be named and presented with a gift.

The 2013 Pink Ball sponsors include: Vaughn Automotive; Hindman/Person Heating and Air Conditioning; McCune and Reed, Inc.; Clemons of Ottumwa; McDonald’s; NOEL Insurance; Patritto Orthodontics; John Deere Ottumwa Works; PCS (Professional Computer Solutions); Ottumwa Veterinary Clinic; Bliss; Gaumer, Emanuel, Carpenter and Goldsmith; Community 1st Credit Union; Orsborn, Milani, Mitchell and Goedken; Elliott Oil; Pro-Tan; Edd the Florist; Lee’s Photography; Barefoot Massage; and Tennyson Enterprises.
