Nadas to open for Beach Boys in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD — Iowa’s best roots rocker band, the Nadas, will open for the legendary Beach Boys during the benefit concert on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, on the rolling green fields surrounding the Fairfield Middle School, 404 W. Fillmore, in Fairfield.
Described by Playboy Magazine as “the best college band you never heard of,” and based on Des Moines, the quintet is anchored by the twin vocals of Mike Butterworth and Jason Walsmith.
The band’s latest album, “The Ghost Inside These Halls,” is their sixth album since 1995. The band also performed at SXSW in 2006 and opened for Bon Jovi at the Wells Fargo Arena at the Des Moines show from the “Have A Nice Day Tour.”
This Fairfield concert with The Beach Boys and The Nadas is a benefit event presented by, and supporting, the David Lynch Foundation and the Fairfield Art & Convention Center (FACC).
“The addition of The Nadas to the Beach Boys concert gives everyone the best of the Iowa rock scene followed by America's Band, the Beach Boys,” said Rustin Lippincott, FACC executive director. “The Nadas have received the national attention for their music and it is only fitting they join the Beach Boys for this first ever Fairfield concert.”
Doors open at noon for the Labor Day event, and the audience is invited to come early and picnic. Food and beverages will be available on site. For tickets, visit FairfieldACC.com or call (641) 472-2787.
