SIGOURNEY —
Dumont Museum will host its annual Train Days on Dec. 8-9.
See the amazing gigantic Lionel Train Layout in operation from 1-4 p.m. each day. Bring your entire family and friends to see the 25-by-30-foot layout with its 6-foot mountain, nine trains and dozens of accessories and animated scenes operating at one time. This is one of the largest detailed train layouts in the area.
This train layout has been designed, built and is engineered by Lyle Dumont. Watching the trains in operation with hundreds of flashing lights, whistles and moving displays always brings a large smile and look of amazement and disbelief to the faces of all ages as they watch the nine trains going in and around the mountain and winding tracks. Also on display a lighted Christmas ceramic village in operation as well as other animated Christmas items. The village and train layout are located in the lobby of the museum and there is no charge for viewing this train layout, but a freewill offering is accepted for the nonprofit organization.
There is a reduced price for those wishing to see the rest of the museum with all the items on display as well as the new 90-by-40-foot train layout still under construction. Approximately 12 trains with lots of special accessories and animated scenes will be in operation on this new layout.
The museum is located three miles south of Sigourney on Highway 149 and 1/8 mile west. For more information, call 641-622-2592.
