The Ottumwa High School library attracted a lot of visitors Thursday. That’s because the school hosted a Love to Volunteer Fair. The event provides volunteer opportunities for students whether they are a Silver Cord member or not. The school’s Silver Cord group works on volunteer projects during the school year and must have 400 hours by graduation time. The volunteers are, left to right, Jo Slaymaker, who volunteers at Hospice of Davis and Wapello Counties; Julie Smithart, American Red Cross; and Vicki Proctor, also a Hospice volunteer.
