OTTUMWA —
During their meeting Tuesday morning, the Wapello County Board of Supervisors approved two amendments concerning the communications tower on Fourth Street.
Supervisor Jerry Parker said new mounts are part of an amendment the board approved during the meeting. The board also approved a second amendment, which pertains to using a high-grade washed limestone.
“These amendments won’t add any cost,” he said.
Instead of river gravel, the county will use high-grade washed limestone.
The board also approved a resolution for the sheriff to apply for an alcohol traffic grant,” Parker said. “It’ll also pay for $13,000 for overtime in the sheriff’s department.”
Winter weather prevented coordinator Katy Anderson from giving her update on the Historic Hills Scenic Byway, according to Parker.
The supervisors also approved a federal aid agreement to renovate a bridge over Cedar Creek on the Dahlonega Road.
“We’re requesting $400,000 from federal government assistance in replacing this bridge,” Parker said.
