CENTERVILLE —
An Ohio woman charged with the attempted murder and child endangerment of her baby three years ago has pleaded guilty to two of the four charges.
Kristina Marie Kennedy-Maroney, 23, of Hicksville, Ohio, was charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of child endangerment in June.
The charges stem from a Centerville Police Department investigation that began in January, when officers learned that in September 2009, Kennedy-Maroney allegedly tried to kill her 5-6 month old child on two separate occassions while living in Centerville.
Kennedy-Maroney told a Hicksville (Ohio) Police Department investigator that she held the child’s face underwater in the bathtub of the apartment for approximately three seconds.
She also said that on a separate occasion she held a pillow over the child’s face for approximately 10 seconds.
She told the investigator that she attempted to kill the child because it would not stop crying and because her fiancé would not help her with the child.
Last week, Kennedy-Maroney filed a written plea of guilty to the two charges of child endangerment.
