Appanoose County woman gets probation

CENTERVILLE — An Appanoose County woman accused of six criminal charges had the case reduced to three and was setenced to six years' probation after a plea bargain.

Crystal Renea Ingersoll, aka Crystal Renea Agan, 28, Mystic, was accused of attempt to commit murder, a class B felony, two counts of neglect of a dependent person, class C felonies and drunken driving, an aggravated misdemeanor. The drunken driving charge was later modified to first offense.

In February the charges were altered to include two counts of child endangerment, no injury, both aggravated misdemeanors.

Ingersoll was sentenced by Judge Kirk A. Daily on OWI, second offense, to credit for seven days time served, two years in prison, 723 days of the state prison suspended, two years probation and a fine.

Judge Daily on the two child endangerment, no injury charges, sentenced Ingersoll to fines, two years in state prison, suspended, two years probation and credit for any time served for both.

The judge ordered the three sentences to run consecutively, meaning they add up to six years.

Scott on Feb. 15 filed a motion to have the court dismiss the attempted murder charge and two neglect of a dependent person charges. The motion states "The State agreed to dismiss Counts I, II, and III."

According to a press release issued by the Appanoose County Sheriff's office dated June 7, 2012, Ingersoll on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at approximately 11:46 p.m. was driving southbound on Highway 5 in the 27000 block toward Cincinnati without a right front tire.

"When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle (Ingersoll) failed to yield to the emergency vehicles," states the press release. "The driver of the vehicle began driving the vehicle in a reckless manner and without any regard for the safety of others."

The release states Ingersoll attempted to strike the officer's vehicles in an attempt to wreck the vehicle and intentionally struck the rear of an emergency vehicle to push the vehicle off the road.

After law enforcement used a PIT maneuver to stop Ingersoll, she lost control and crashed her car in a ditch at the intersection of Highway 5 and 584th Street, the west edge of Cincinnati.

After the crash, Ingersoll and a 5-year and a 6-year-old were found inside the vehicle.
