Marching Dutch hosts competition

PELLA — The Pella Community High School Marching Dutch will host its 3rd annual marching band competition “The Marching Dutch Invitational” on Saturday, September 22nd at the Pella High School Football Stadium. Thirteen of the area’s best high school marching bands will compete for top honors in four classes. The Marching Dutch will also provide a special exhibition performance of their 2012 fall program “Catch Me…If You Can!”

Participating schools include:  Don Bosco, North Mahaska, Ogden, North Polk, Cardinal Schools from Eldon, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Bondurant-Farrar, Winterset, Oskaloosa, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Newton, Dowling Catholic, and Pella.

The competition will start at 6:30 p.m. with gates open to the general public starting at 6:00 p.m.  Cost for the event is: $5 for adults, $3 for students, children 5 and under are free.
