OTTUMWA —
Seth Techel's murder trial has been delayed due to weather.
Court proceedings for Tuesday were canceled as a winter storm plowed into Iowa. The storm had already created massive headaches from Texas through Missouri. Impacts in Iowa were expected to be less severe, but estimates still called for some areas to see 4-10 inches of snow.
This is the second time the trial has been impacted by a storm. Last week opening statements were not immediately followed by witness testimony as the court broke early to avoid being caught in a snowstorm.
Judge Daniel Wilson said at the time that he disliked delays in a trial, but that safety concerns had to be paramount.
